NYSE Euronext to Commemorate 9/11 with Moment of Silence

Before the trading day begins tomorrow, September 9, 2011, the New York Stock Exchange community will observe a one-minute moment of silence in remembrance of the NYSE and NYSE Amex members and the thousands of others who lost their lives on 9/11. The moment of silence will begin with a single stroke of the NYSE bell at 9:25 a.m.

Before the trading day begins tomorrow, September 10, 2010, the New York Stock Exchange community will observe a one-minute moment of silence in remembrance of the NYSE members and the thousands of others who lost their lives on 9/11. The moment of silence will begin with a single stroke of the NYSE bell at 9:25 a.m.

Following the moment of silence, officials from The September Concert Foundation, the organizer of an annual music festival in memory of the people lost on 9/11, will ring the Opening Bell. The concerts, first held in New York in 2002, now take place in cities worldwide.

The NYSE will close its day of remembrance with representatives from Voices of September 11th (VOICES) ringing the Closing Bell. Founded in 2001, VOICES is a nationally recognized organization that provides support services to people impacted by the 9/11 attacks, commemorates lives and stories, and advocates for reforms to protect the nation.

NYSE Alternext U.S. (NYSE/Amex Integration) – FIX Message Formatting

As previously announced in NYSE Trader Update Notice of upcoming NYSE system changes to support the NYSE/Amex Integration (NYSE Alternext U.S.)", Amex Equities will be migrated onto the NYSE Trading Platform in the September 2008 timeframe. The Amex Auction and Electronic Market Integration system (AEMI) currently supports FIX protocol version 4.4. Upon completion of the Amex Equities migration to the NYSE Trading platform, incoming FIX messages must conform to the currentNYSE Fix 4.2 specification or NYSE FCS protocol formats.For more detailed information regarding NYSE version FIX4.2 and the Amex migration see the NYSE FIX Specification version 3.5.1 and the Integration & Connectivity Notice links provided below.

Incentive Based Floor Broker Order Pricing Launches on 03/03/08

Beginning on March 3, 2008 the Exchange will introduce incentive based pricing for orders that originate from NYSE floor brokers and add liquidity to the market. The $0.04 per 100 shares credit will be applied to executions when floor brokers use e-Quotes, DOT or Percentage orders to add liquidity to the market. The Exchange believes that this will continue to encourage posted liquidity, which ensures deeper markets and better prices.

New Booth Trading Facility for Floor Brokers

As of June 11, 2007, Floor broker members and appropriately registered and supervised floor broker staff, are now permitted to handle all securities, including those listed on other markets, from their booths on the NYSE Trading Floor. Member organizations will now be able to handle orders in a similar manner to “upstairs” offices. This document provides a general overview of the types of coordination required by NYSE Regulations and NYSE Operations for member organizations to be approved to take advantage of these new trading options.
