Update on Retail Liquidity Program

10 Aug 2012

The NYSE Retail Liquidity Program was successfully launched on August 1.

Yesterday, there were 6,624 retail trade executions in 281 securities amounting to nearly 2.7 million shares executed. Six liquidity providers sent retail price improvement interest in 541 securities, including 128 securities having available price improvement at least 90% of the day. Yesterday’s average price improvement for retail orders was $0.0016 and the average size of a retail taking order was just over 2,300 shares.

With the program now under way, we anticipate much more retail participation and encourage liquidity providers to expand their participation to a broader list of securities throughout the entire trading day. Below is a link to the list of the 541 securities where there was liquidity-providing interest yesterday, with data showing the percentage of time there was retail price improving interest available in a given security. Thank you for your participation!
