OATS – MPID to Broker Systems

21 Sep 2011

Effective October 3, 2011, pending SEC approval, the NYSE and NYSE Amex will require Member Organizations that route orders (and cancel/replacement requests) to the NYSE Broker Systems to populate their firm’s Market Participant Identifier (“MPID”) as prescribed in the Common Customer Gateway informational memo dated June 7, 2011, subject “CCG Support for Market Participant ID (MPID) for Broker OATS Reporting”. In addition, when entering orders manually into the Broker Booth Support System, Floor brokers must include the sending firm’s MPID.

CCG Changes: As stated in a previously issued Trader Alert (Reminder: NYSE OATS Update, dated August 31 2011), the CCG changes are available in the UAT testing environment for user acceptance testing. We expect that the new MPID field will be activated in production on or about September 26, 2011 (CCG users can begin populating the field prior to activation but the MPID will be ignored). We recommend that customers begin submitting the MPID in advance of the required October date to facilitate implementation. Additional details are included in the attached Information Memo. https://markets.nyx.com/sites/markets.nyx.com/files/traderupdate-attachments/10195/broker_mpid.pdf
