As you may be aware, beginning in October, 2011, FINRA is expanding the OATS reporting requirements to Tape A (NYSE) and Tape B (NYSE Amex) securities for all FINRA member firms. Accordingly, all Floor Broker firms will be required to comply with this new requirement.
Floor Broker firms will be required to provide FINRA with an OATS submission for all qualified order events received from a non-NYSE member firm or whenever orders received manually are entered locally into the NYSE Broker Booth System (BBSS). In support of this initiative, NYSE Systems will report all order events sent to the Broker Systems (NYSE BBSS and NYSE eBroker Handheld) to the FINRA OATS system on behalf of the Floor Broker community.
