Update on Nasdaq UTP Order Types

Starting December 6, 2010 the NYSE Amex will no longer accept Market orders or Stop orders for its Nasdaq traded securities under the UTP plan. The purpose of this change is to protect investors from erroneous executions that sometimes result from unpriced orders entering the market.

NYSE and NYSE Amex ‘Auto-Cancel on Disconnect’ Services Update

Previously, the NYSE announced a new optional auto-cancel upon disconnect service within our Common Customer Gateway (CCG) which will allow member firms to configure their CCG connections to automatically cancel all open day orders if the firm’s FIX session disconnects from CCG by providing two additional FIX Tags in the session Logon message. This new service will be activated on Friday, December 3, 2010.

NYSE and NYSE Amex ‘Done for Day’ Update

Previously, the NYSE announced upcoming enhancements to the “Done for Day” firm subscription service which will immediately return unsolicited “UROUT” messages as each individual symbol is closed and all closing reports have been disseminated for the trading day. This enhancement will be activated Monday, November 29, 2010.

NYSE Amex fee changes scheduled for December 1, 2010

Effective December 1, 2010, pending SEC filing, NYSE Amex will be lowering the displayed liquidity requirement for the Block Rebate that offers the highest rebate among exchanges for providing significant liquidity in Nasdaq-Listed (Tape C) securities. The new fee schedule changes are highlighted below.

New Reg SHO Implementation Date

On November 4, 2010, the Securities and Exchange Commission extended the Reg SHO (Rule 201) compliance date from November 10, 2010 to February 28, 2011. See http://www.sec.gov/rules/final/2010/34-63247.pdf


Accordingly, the NYSE and NYSE Amex will coordinate its changes to Reg SHO in support of the new SEC’s compliance date. We will also offer additional testing opportunities in advance of that date.

Update: Sell Short Restriction Industry Testing on 10/30/10

On Saturday, October 30, 2010, the NYSE and NYSE Amex supported a second Sell Short Restriction industry test. Please find an annotated script, with detailed timeline, in the document linked below.

Additionally, the User Acceptance Test (UAT) environment has been upgraded to support Sell Short Restriction functionality, including acceptance of Sell Short Exempt orders and Bid Test/Price Filing.
