Sell Short Restriction Industry Testing on 10/30/10

In support of the deployment of Sell Short Restriction (SSR) logic, the NYSE and NYSE Amex will support a second industry test in the production environment on Saturday, October 30, 2010. Similar to the industry test on October 23, scripted SSR messaging and demonstration of new short sale restrictions in targeted symbols will be supported over production Proprietary Data Product and Consolidated Tape and Consolidated Quote lines.


Please find the test script and approximate time schedule in the document linked below.
• No registration required, all production lines will be open for testing.

On Saturday, October 23, 2010, the NYSE and NYSE Amex supported the Sell Short Restriction industry test. Please find an annotated script, with detailed timeline, in the document linked below.

Additionally, the User Acceptance Test (UAT) environment has been upgraded to support Sell Short Restriction functionality, including acceptance of Sell Short Exempt orders and Bid Test/Price Filing. To coordinate testing in the UAT environment, please contact the Firm Testing Group at firmtesting@nyx.com or 888.689.7739 option 2.

55 Water Street CCG Decommission Notice

Since August 25, 2010, the NYSE and NYSE Amex Markets have been in production at our US Liquidity Center at Mahwah. All firm connectivity to the MetroTech (MT) Data Center was discontinued on September 17, 2010. This is a reminder notice that all firm connectivity to the 55 Water Street (55W) Data Center will no longer be supported after October 29, 2010. Effective Monday, November 1, 2010 Common Customer Gateway (CCG) connectivity will only be supported directly to Mahwah. If not already done so, please migrate your remaining connections and traffic to Mahwah.

Update: CORRECTION - Sell Short Restriction Industry Testing on 10/23/10

Correction: In the previously distributed test script in support of this weekend’s Sell Short Restriction Industry test there was an error in the NYSE Amex symbol to be used for the first trading scenario. The symbol should be HUSA. Please find the corrected test script in the document linked below.

Update: New Displayed Liquidity Indicators

On Monday,October 18th, the NYSE will introduced two new Displayed Liquidity Indicator (DLI) values to represent over 100 round lots (10,000 shares) and over 200 round lots (20,000 shares) displayed.

Original notification of the DLI was issued on March 10, 2010 and at that time values 0-4 were defined. The two new values of 5 and 6 will represent 100-200 round lots (10,000 to 19,999 shares) and equal to or greater than 200 round lots (20,000 shares) respectively.

The attached notification includes values for FIX Tags and the Merged Order Log Output.

Introducing a New Binary Common Customer GatewaySM (CCG) and NYSE UTPDirect Message API

The NYSE will be introducing a Binary Common Customer Gateway that is designed to be a new strategic entry point into the NYSE and NYSE Amex market centers for customers wishing to transact using a new optional order entry method protocol, UTPDirect. This new, faster protocol reduces bandwidth and latency by using smaller messages than a standard FIX message with minimal internal message translation.
