New Database (SDBK): Implementation Update

11 Mar 2009

To update the March 5, 2009 Information Memo, NYSE Euronext will migrate one low volume NYSE cash equities symbol from the SuperDOT® (SDOT) databases to a newly implemented Super Display Book (SDBK) database in production on Monday, March 16, 2009. Trading in the pilot stock will take place through the settlement cycle and the systems will be adjusted as required before the stock symbol is announced and before any further rollout commences.

In response to prior notices, firms have expressed concerns about certain changes being implemented in the SDBK deployment, specifically with the removal of the Cancel/Replace to reduce message type. To address those concerns we will proceed with the SDBK deployment on a very limited basis and are targeting the implementation of system changes to reinstate the Cancel/Replace to reduce message type shortly after the commencement of the pilot stock. A separate notice will be issued detailing the Cancel/Replace to reduce message type reinstatement.
