Sub-penny Reports for Away Market Executions: Securities Rollout List

Beginning tomorrow, Friday, January 29, 2009, the following NYSE & NYSE Alternext US securities will be enabled to provide the new sub-penny reports for away market executions. As additional securities are enabled with this new feature this rollout list will be updated. Please check the NYSE Equities References Page to follow the updates.

NYSE Euronext and BIDS Trading Receive SEC Approval to Launch the New York Block Exchange

NYSE Euronext and BIDS Holdings, L.P. today announced that the Securities and Exchange Commission has approved their joint filing to launch the New York Block Exchange (NYBX) on January 29, 2009. Designed to improve execution quality and access to block trading liquidity, NYBX is a 50/50 joint venture between the two companies and it will operate as a facility of the NYSE.

NYSE Euronext New Data Centers

NYSE Euronext is in the process of constructing new data centers in the New York and London metropolitan areas. These facilities will replace the existing facilities currently operating in these areas. We anticipate that the consolidation into these new facilities will further enable NYSE Euronext to provide you with a broader offering of services including enhanced collocation capability.

Update on Sub-penny reports for Away market executions

Beginning on Monday January, 26 2009, as previously mentioned in several client communication throughout the month of October (please reference notices linked below), the NYSE will begin passing sub-penny execution reports from away markets back to firms and will no longer truncate buy reports or round up sell reports as we have done in the past. Firms will begin to receive sub-penny prices via CCG as well as CCG and CMS Drop Copy Services on execution reports from away markets that provide mid point matches as well as on Odd Lots that are priced off an away market quote.

NYSE MatchPoint Initiates January Liquidity Drive on 01/07/09

On Wednesday, January 7, 2009 NYSE MatchPoint will begin its drive for liquidity. Our goal is to establish the NYSE exchange facility as the central, neutral and primary utility for non-displayed liquidity. The NYSE dark pool exchange facilities of NYSE MatchPoint and soon-to-be-launched New York Block Exchange (NYBX) will help centralize liquidity for all investors.
