CMS Broadcast Messages to be provided by NYSE Trader Updates & NYSE System Status

21 Nov 2008

In order to better serve our customers, the NYSE System Status & NYSE Trader Updates messaging platform was recently enhanced with several new features. We have added a subscription manager on nyse.com which allows for all our customers to customize their subscription preferences by opting in and out of individual categories of messages; more detailed subject lines for easy identification of content in emails and RSS feeds, and finally better views of all types of messages on nyse.com through the addition of category filtering.

Starting this Friday, November 21st, 2008, the next phase of the messaging platform enhancements will go live with NYSE System Status & NYSE Trader Updates delivering messages formerly delivered only by CMS (Common Message Switch) Broadcasts. CMS Broadcast Messages currently provide intraday updates on calls for redemption, trading suspensions, IPOs, Listings, Stock Updates Trading in Cash only information, calendar updates and notices of issues with our trading systems.

The replacement of CMS with CCG has been underway since March of this year and is now handling 75% of all traffic formerly handled by CMS. On September 29th, 2008 the Exchange reduced CMS capacity by 33% and on December 5th capacity in CMS will be reduced again by an additional 50%. Until CMS is fully decommissioned, CMS Broadcasts will continue in parallel with NYSE System Status & NYSE Trader Update messages. Customers receiving this email will automatically begin receiving the newly incorporated CMS Broadcast messages immediately.
