New Pre-Opening Price Indicator live on 12/24/07

Beginning on Monday, December 24, 2007, amended NYSE Rule 15 will require a specialist to publish a pre-opening price indication whenever the specialist, is arranging the opening transaction in a subject security, and anticipates that the price of the opening transaction will be at a price which is different from the previous day’s consolidated closing price by more than the “applicable price change.”

Elimination of "Electronic Execution" Indicator set for 12/21/07

The NYSE is in the process of eliminating the "electronic execution" indication that appears with trades reported to the Consolidated Tape. The Exchange anticipates elimination for all securities by 12/21/07.

1st Invocation of Rule 48 12/12/07

This morning, the NYSE invoked the procedures approved in new Rule 48, which provides the Exchange with the ability to suspend the requirement to disseminate price indications and obtain Floor Official approval prior to the opening when extremely high market-wide volatility could cause Floor-wide delays in opening of securities on the Exchange.
